With a strong mechanical background and a passion for helping others develop their skills, the Junior Mechanical Trainer role could be your next career move!
As a Junior Mechanical Trainer, you will work directly with customers and internal teams to deliver technical training on Valmet tissue converting equipment. You will play a key role in developing operator and maintenance capabilities through both classroom-style instruction and hands-on equipment training. In addition, you will support customers and service teams by answering technical questions and assisting with field service activities.
Responsibilities
This is a field-based role with a strong focus on customer interaction, coaching, and continuous improvement of training programs. When not actively training, you will support mechanical field service needs including installations, audits, trials, and maintenance activities. You will collaborate closely with Italian counterparts, technicians, engineers, service managers, and customers to ensure consistent and effective knowledge transfer.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver technical training on tissue converting equipment (approx. 30% classroom, 70% hands-on).
• Support customers and internal technicians by answering mechanical and troubleshooting-related questions.
• Provide coaching and guidance to operators and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
• Support mechanical field service activities when not training, including installations, audits, trials, and maintenance tasks.
• Assist with equipment troubleshooting and hands-on support at customer sites.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to improve existing training materials and programs.
• Collaborate with engineering, service teams, and Italian counterparts to ensure alignment on equipment knowledge and best practices.
• Promote a safe and structured learning environment for all training participants.
• Build strong relationships with customers through professional communication and a coaching mindset.
Requirements
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to confidently lead training sessions.
• Customer-facing professionalism with a coaching and development mindset.
• General mechanical aptitude with experience on OEM equipment or in a related industrial field.
• Minimum of 2 years of training or instructional experience.
• Ability to balance training responsibilities with hands-on field service support.
• Comfortable presenting in front of groups and working one-on-one with technicians and operators.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and standard operating procedures.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to support customer training and field service needs.
• Ability to work based out of the Green Bay location when not traveling.
