Indotronix is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer for a Job Opportunity in Middletown RI
Job Title: Mechanical Test Engineer - Clearance
Location: Middletown, RI
Duration: 6 to 9 Months Contract
Pay Rate: $71.42/hr on W2
Job Description:
โ€ข Perform instrumentation planning and test conduct of all Hardware Tests including vibration, mechanical shock, temperature, altitude, humidity, and structural testing
โ€ข Dynamic and thermal data acquisition and analysis
โ€ข Provide test fixture design coordination
โ€ข Work independently and take ownership of program/project to achieve schedule, financial, and technical goals
โ€ข Prepare test plans, schedules, test reports, and technical documentation of project work assigned
โ€ข Work directly with design engineering, structural analysis personnel, manufacturing engineering, and commercial customers
โ€ข Provide technical expertise to programs as needed
โ€ข Factory and supplier testing support domestically and internationally
โ€ข Generate detailed, archival technical reports
โ€ข Travel to test sites to support test or design discussion (depending on work assignment)
โ€ข Willingness to travel to domestic sites, suppliers, and government facilities
Qualifications You Must Have
โ€ข Typically requires a Bachelor in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience
โ€ข Hands-on mechanical aptitude and willingness to work in a lab environment
Qualifications We Prefer
โ€ข Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
โ€ข Experience in Hardware and Environmental Testing (i.e. Dynamic Shock/Vibration, Climatic, Structural)
โ€ข Experience in one or more of the following areas: Signal processing, data acquisition, field test instrumentation, or structural testing
โ€ข Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment and independently
โ€ข Experience with solid modeling CAD tool such as CREO or equivalent
โ€ข Experience with Matlab
โ€ข Experience presenting to external customers
โ€ข Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
โ€ข Ability to travel to government and other facilities in support of program activities
