Xylem is looking for a Mechanical Service Center Technician to report to our Sanford, FL location and service our pumps both on-site and at customer sites in the surrounding area.

What your day will look like as a Mechanical Service Center Technician

The Mechanical Service Center Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our pumps and their corresponding electrical and mechanical components. Equipment specific training will be provided, but applicants with previous experience working with industrial or commercial mechanical and electrical equipment are especially encouraged to apply.

This position has general day shift hours with overtime opportunities and occasional afternoons/weekends.

Position Requirements for Mechanical Service Center Technicians

  • Two to three years of experience and/or training or combination of education, training and experience.

  • Ability to diagnose common mechanical and electrical issues.

  • Experience with engine repairs

  • Basic knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques to repair and maintain equipment.

  • Basic knowledge of DC electric and circuit testing skills

  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools and lifting equipment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and managers both verbally and in writing.

  • Clean driving record

  • Mechanical and electrical experience

  • Technically sound

The estimated salary range for this position is $25 to $30/hr. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
