Role Overview

JR Automation is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and analysis of complex mechanical systems and components for various industrial applications. This role involves applying advanced engineering principles to ensure product performance, reliability, and manufacturability within a collaborative environment.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Lead the full lifecycle mechanical design, analysis, and validation of new tooling and automation systems, from concept to production.

  • Develop detailed engineering specifications, drawings, and documentation using CAD software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, project managers and machine builders to integrate mechanical systems.

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices and problem-solving methodologies.

  • Ensure designs comply with relevant customer standards, and safety requirements.

  • Participate in design reviews, provide technical presentations, and effectively communicate design rationale and results to stakeholders.

  • Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

  • Actively propagates corporate culture within engineering and promotes our technologies externally.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering design and development, preferably within an automation or manufacturing setting.

  • Proven expertise in 3D CAD modeling software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo) and 2D drafting (AutoCAD, BricsCAD).

  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and stack-up analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor junior engineers.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Ability to quickly recognize and fix common engineering problems based on experience, including review / critique of others' work.

  • Familiar with controls and automation problems and draws from relevant personal experience to address and direct engineering solutions.

  • Travel Required up to 25% including overnight and international.
