Pay: $95,000 - $125,000 (Based on Experience)


Job Description:

HOIST Fitness Systems, a leading manufacturer of fitness strength equipment located in the San Diego area has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineer / Designer. We are looking exclusively for a candidate who has experience designing fitness equipment or a background in biomechanical engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical design and materials specifications of parts and assemblies of all new and existing product.
  • Creative design of steel frames with integrated pivotal and structural components.
  • Provide piece part and assembly drawings for manufacture.
  • Work as a part of a research and development team to create new, state of the art product from concept through production.
  • Maintaining engineering schedules and managing multiple projects with aggressive deadlines.
  • Interfacing and conferring with other engineering personnel as well as several departments to resolve problems.
  • To work with and respect disciplines of cross functional development team, identify, quantify and permanently resolve problems.
  • To handle simultaneous tasks where deadlines may be tight.
  • To positively communicate with customers (internal and external), to address needs promptly and to follow through on commitments.
  • To focus on design/aesthetics along with quality and character of end-user experience.
  • Additional Duties as Assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years Mechanical Design experience
  • Proficient in SolidWorks
  • Must be able to follow the mechanical design process and instructions.
  • Fitness equipment design/engineering experience a plus.
  • The use of FEA, kinematics and tolerance analysis software is a plus
