A Mechanical Design Engineer is required for a commercial HVAC and MEP design-build role based in Fort Worth, TX. This position is suited to an HVAC design engineer with experience delivering cost-effective, energy-efficient systems across commercial construction projects.


The Mechanical Design Engineer will take ownership of HVAC design work from early concept and proposal support through design development, construction support and project closeout. The role offers involvement across the full project lifecycle, working closely with project managers, construction teams, contractors, vendors and customers.

The Mechanical Design Engineer / HVAC Design Engineer / Mechanical Engineer Role:

  • Design and develop HVAC systems for commercial construction projects, ensuring performance, cost and energy-efficiency requirements are met.
  • Support proposal development by preparing pricing, vendor and subcontractor input, manpower estimates, phasing, project duration and RFP responses.
  • Review customer requirements, existing designs, performance standards and project specifications to define design scope.
  • Produce and review engineering documents for completeness, scope compliance, constructability and cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate design deliverables, technical data packages, procurement requirements and equipment delivery schedules.
  • Attend meetings, site walks and construction kick-off meetings, providing technical input throughout project delivery.
  • Support project managers with design changes, deviations, technical issue resolution and schedule coordination.
  • Oversee red-line drawing updates, as-built documentation, digital project media delivery and post-construction site verification.


Mechanical Design Engineer / HVAC Design Engineer / Mechanical Engineer Requirements:

  • Experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, HVAC Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or similar HVAC engineering role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • HVAC engineering experience, or 6+ years of related project experience.
  • EIT certification required; PE license preferred.
  • Experience designing and/or supporting complex commercial HVAC construction projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Trane Trace, Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, contractors, vendors and internal project teams.
  • U.S. citizenship and a valid U.S. passport are required for access to secure facilities.
