Job Summary: The purpose of this position is to design, engineer and develop signage and component products to a customer's image requirements. The position requires working knowledge of manufacturing processes related to metal, plastic, vinyl, electrical lighting, and construction principles related to sign installation.

Responsibilities

Design Engineers at Stratus are creative and constantly researching new and evolving technologies to make their products even better. Design Engineers work to design, engineer, and develop signage and component products to our customer's image requirements.ย 

  • Use AutoCAD system to produce complete fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings and/or graphics.
  • Perform structural analysis on steel and aluminum frames.
  • Translate engineering concepts into finished sign designs to effectively meet customer specifications.
  • Incorporate principles for manufacturability, value engineering, and installation requirements.
  • Create and maintain families of standard pylons, monuments and wall signs and other product commodities, using standard and special extrusions with cross-sections and details.
  • Develop and revise engineering standard.
  • Create and maintain Bill of Materials.
  • Standardize components for ease of manufacturing and cost control.
  • Assures compliance with approved methods and quality standards.ย 
  • Use creativity and latitude in product design and construction.
  • Design product to maximize material yield and improve productivity.
  • Inventory control through standardization of components
  • Provide technical support for sign site surveys and field installation problems.
  • Stay abreast of new and evolving technologies through education, trade shows, and literature.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes related to metal, plastic, vinyl, electrical lighting and construction principles for sign installation a plus
  • Minimum two years experience in computer aided drafting (AutoCAD preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience in engineering and/or metal fabrication
  • Bachelors degree in engineering or related field is preferred

All travel must be pre-approved in accordance with company policy and conducted in compliance with applicable safety and expense guidelines.

Pay Range

$65,000- $70,000 annually - Pay range listed reflects the potential pay for this role. The pay will depend on various factors, such as responsibilities of the position, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Not all positions posted will have a pay range listed.
