Job description

Summary: We are seeking a reliable Laser Operator to operate CNC laser cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role involves loading materials, running production, inspecting parts, performing basic machine maintenance, and maintaining a safe, efficient workspace. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate the Bystronic BySmart Fiber 4020 laser cutting machine.
  • Upload and verify programs for production runs.
  • Coordinate with the Production Supervisor to prioritize and schedule work.
  • Load raw material and unload finished parts using a forklift.
  • Inspect parts for quality and ensure they meet production requirements.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, including cleaning the machine, shuttle tables, and slats.
  • Replace worn slats and assist with other routine equipment upkeep.
  • Monitor machine performance and work with the Maintenance department to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with other production duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment preferred.
  • Forklift experience or the ability to become forklift certified.
  • Ability to read work orders, drawings, and production documentation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with supervisors and maintenance personnel.
  • Ability to safely lift materials and work in a manufacturing environment.
