Job description

Bring your energy to Aggreko as Field Engineer based in Reno, NV. You'll work with electrical engineers and project managers to install electrical systems as required for Power, HVAC and Oil Free Air for gas and hybrid power plant projects.

What you'll do as Field Engineer:

  • Commissioning (cold and hot) and full validation of hybrid systems at project sites for Aggreko Microgrid and Storage Solutions (AMSS). Support Project Delivery responsibilities in projects from project execution to post-commissioning and operations and maintenance.
  • Work with customers, utilities, project partners, as well as other Aggreko personnel to define the system and then implement the electrical, mechanical and control systems that make up the product.
  • Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and controls for electrical power systems. Work with tools and equipment for remote metering and monitoring, data acquisition, and instrumentation.
  • Perform and validate commissioning, operational, maintenance and testing procedures for equipment and hybrid systems. Provide feedback to product development and design engineering teams.
  • Coordinate construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, commissioning, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements.
  • Provide support for Sustaining engineering, Service and Maintenance of products and projects. Train Aggreko personnel such as field technicians and engineers to install and commission AMSS products.
  • Travel 50% +

You are:

  • Bachelor Degree in relevant Engineering field (ABET accredited or approved equal. Electrical, Mechanical, or others with energy industry work experience).
  • 2+ years field experience in mechanical and/or electrical systems and 1+ field experience in hybrid energy systems (PV, Gas, Diesel, BESS, transmission, distribution, etc).
  • Experience in electrical safety and hazard awareness.
  • Knowledge of large scale battery energy storage systems and related components (e.g. DC battery systems, inverter technology, transformers and switchgear, grid access, low voltage auxiliaries, HVAC design, enclosures).
  • Experienced in planning, commissioning and decommissioning of electrical power systems equipment.
  • Availability to travel to support business needs and for training and in possession of valid local Driving License as per the need of the business.
