Position Overview:
The Pipefitter - Apprentice assists experienced Journeyman and Foreman Pipefitters in the layout, fabrication, and installation of piping systems used in industrial and commercial facilities. This position is designed for individuals developing trade skills, learning blueprint interpretation, and mastering safety procedures while working under close supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation Support: Assist in the layout, cutting, threading, and assembly of pipe systems for various industrial applications.
  • Material Handling: Transport and organize pipe, fittings, and tools safely and efficiently.
  • Measurement & Layout: Learn to interpret blueprints and drawings to mark and prepare work areas.
  • Tool & Equipment Operation: Safely operate hand and power tools under supervision.
  • Safety Awareness: Follow company safety standards and participate in safety meetings and training programs.
  • Skill Development: Actively engage in learning through on-the-job training and apprenticeship coursework.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Enrollment in or willingness to enter a recognized pipefitting apprenticeship program.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn from senior craft personnel.
Preferred Experience:
  • Previous experience in construction or mechanical work.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Safety Certification.
Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily at industrial or construction sites and may involve standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working outdoors or in confined spaces.
Reporting Structure:
Reports to the Pipefitter - Foreman or Superintendent. Works under direct supervision of Journeyman Pipefitters.
