We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our IT Production and Measurement Systems team as an IT Advisor, based in Houston, Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to end users by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to Detechtion (or similar chemical treatment software), FlowCal, and associated integrations.
  • Design, develop, and maintain custom solutions supporting Detechtion and FlowCal.
  • Provide support to end users by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to IronSight (or similar water logistics management software).
  • Ensure high system availability and respond to critical issues, including outside standard business hours as needed.
  • Collaborate with vendors to support system enhancements and issue resolution.
  • Develop and maintain batch scripts to support system operations.
  • Design, develop, and maintain SSIS packages for system integrations.
  • Utilize PowerShell scripting to automate processes and manage administrative tasks.
  • Leverage SQL Server and Oracle expertise to support integrations, data management, and business reporting.
  • Proactively identify and implement system and process improvements aligned with Oxy's business objectives, incorporating AI technologies where appropriate.
  • Apply data security best practices across applications and environments.
  • Support audit activities by ensuring compliance with controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead and contribute to IT projects through all phases of delivery.
  • Maintain awareness of business needs, technology trends, and emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Participate in monthly meetings and maintain active communication with operations teams.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, knowledge articles, standards, best practices, and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server and Oracle database development.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting and SSIS package development.
  • Strong expertise in Detechtion (or similar chemical tracking software/processes) and FlowCal.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of water trucking dispatching and logistics to support IT applications such as IronSight.
  • Experience in IT project management.
  • Experience designing and supporting IT system infrastructure, including test and production environments; AWS experience preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding and practical application of AI concepts and tools.

Desired Qualifications:

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.
  • Experience with Crystal Reports development and support.
  • Experience with Spotfire, PowerBI and other reporting tools.
  • Experience with AI-enabled automation and scripting.
  • Experience with industrial automation systems such as Cygnet, TopServer, and PI.
  • Relevant certifications in IT support, database management, or related disciplines.
  • Experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
