Summary:

Technology Specialists support the day-to-day operations of PCs, servers, and networking equipment for the office location. Coordinate small to medium size IT projects for the office and contribute to large IT projects.

Customers: Primary customers will be the site personnel in the office, including executives and their assistants. Key stakeholder and working relationships will be established with DTS and the business depending on the assignment and project scope.

Reports: The incumbent works for the ITS Infrastructure & Operations Manager and may take functional work direction from others at the facility.

In this role you will:

  • Operational Support: Support operational maintenance of local data center, site IT infrastructure, mill-related computer systems, installed applications, and manufacturing-specific applications; resolve minor infrastructure problems and escalate higher-impact issues.

  • Infrastructure Projects: Support planning and execution of mill infrastructure implementation projects and coordinate small to medium-sized IT projects while contributing to larger initiatives.

  • Network Support: Install and support network equipment with guidance from the Network Operations team.

  • Server Support / Maintenance: Coordinate or perform physical and virtual server installations, operating system upgrades, critical patching, and maintenance with assistance from the Server team.

  • PC Support / Deployment: Provide site-specific support requiring office or desk visits; manage ordering, imaging, software installation, troubleshooting, deployment, and accurate inventory management through ServiceNow.

  • Printing Services: Manage the multi-function device and printer fleet; procure equipment, provide basic support, and escalate issues to the printer vendor as needed.

  • Unified Communications Support: Install and support voice and video equipment with assistance from the UC Operations team.

  • Mobility Services: Assist with new equipment requests, configuration, and support for mobile devices.

  • Surplus Coordination: Document and coordinate the IT hardware surplus equipment process for inventory and asset disposal purposes.

  • Site IT Administration: Request new employee accounts, provide IT onboarding training, procure infrastructure components according to established KC procurement processes, and educate mill users on available technologies and proper use.

  • Compliance and Continuity: Ensure LAN/WAN and related systems are compliant with established control procedures; review and control access to MDF and other sensitive areas; maintain the site IT Business Continuity Plan and a 1- to 3-year IT plan.

  • Technology Liaison: Relay future technology recommendations between the mill and centralized technology teams, coordinate technology changes, manage communication plans for implementations, and facilitate collaboration among stakeholders with shared objectives.

  • Professional Practices: Demonstrate a customer-based service philosophy, analytical and systematic problem solving, quality performance, and the ability to rapidly absorb and apply new technical information.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience with proven technical skills.

  • 1+ years of relevant experience with relevant technical experience, or 3+ years of hands-on IT work with demonstrated skills.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for computer, infrastructure, and basic application issues.

  • Experience with Windows operating systems, Windows Server, SQL Server, Cisco networking, LAN/WAN, wireless networks, firewalls, Microsoft Office, Office 365, SharePoint, smartphones, and tablets including iOS and Android.

  • Experience using a ticketing system for incident and request tracking, such as ServiceNow.

  • Establish proactive, confidence-inspiring client and support team relationships to ensure support, maintenance and project work meet business goals.

  • Be able to work outside of business hours when required.

  • Occasional traveling may be required for training or project purposes (5%).

Salary Range: 62,480 - 73,840 USDAt Kimberly-Clark, pay is just one aspect of our total rewards package, which also includes a variety of benefits and opportunities to achieve, thrive and grow. Along with base pay, this position offers eligibility for a target bonus and a comprehensive benefits suite, including our 401(k) and Profit Sharing plan. The anticipated base pay range for this role is provided above for a fully qualified hire. Actual pay will depend on several factors, such as location, role, skills, performance, and experience.
