This role is responsible for specifying power, cooling/AC, rack elevations, antenna frames and supports, antenna radomes, foundation requirements, and MDF/IDF room layout across all Gateway types, and for partnering with other Gateway specialists so infrastructure is properly dimensioned and documented for deployment at scale.

The ideal candidate is experienced in telecom-grade infrastructure dimensioning, ground station and data center design, power and AC dimensioning, and satellite antenna foundation and support specification including wind load calculation, and thrives in outdoor, multi-site deployment environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define, lifecycle-manage, and document all infrastructure requirements for each Gateway SKU, including power, cooling/AC, rack elevations, antenna frames and supports, antenna radomes, foundation requirements, and MDF/IDF room layout.
  • Work closely with other Gateway specialists to ensure infrastructure components are properly dimensioned for each Gateway type.
  • Own the overall documentation of the end-to-end SKU for each Gateway type.
  • Work with the Commercial team to productize the Gateway.
  • Work with Service Delivery and customers to review and align potential variance to infrastructure requirements for Gateway deployment.
  • Maintain all infrastructure documentation, keeping it current as Gateway types and requirements evolve.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience:

5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering for telecom-grade or mission-critical facility deployments, including:

  • Ground station, data center, or comparable facility design (layout and rack elevation).
  • Power and AC/cooling dimensioning.
  • Satellite antenna foundation and support specification with wind load calculations.
  • Product SKU documentation.
  • Infrastructure design for outdoor deployments across varied site and environmental conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent structural/civil engineering credential.
  • Experience working directly with satellite, telecom, or wireless network operators on infrastructure requirements.
  • Familiarity with MDF/IDF room design standards and telecom facility best practices.
  • Experience supporting commercial productization of hardware or infrastructure offerings.
  • Background reviewing site-specific variances against standard infrastructure requirements for field deployments.
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes, wind load standards, and foundation design standards for telecom structures.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional engineering, product, and operations organizations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of technical documentation, test results, and project deliverables.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.

Technology Stack:

  • CAD and structural design tools for rack elevations, antenna frames/supports, and foundation design.
  • Wind load and structural calculation software/methodologies.
  • Power and AC/cooling load-dimensioning tools for telecom and data-center environments.
  • Product SKU and configuration management/documentation systems.
  • Data center and ground station layout/design standards and tooling.
  • Document management platforms for maintaining infrastructure and SKU documentation across Gateway types.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in laboratory and technical testing environments.
  • Ability to travel periodically to support deployment, integration, testing, and operational activities.
  • Ability to safely handle and move technical equipment and hardware components when necessary.
