Job Summary
Maysville Community & Technical College is currently accepting applications for a full time, term contract staff position on the Maysville Campus for Admissions Counselor II (Admissions Specialist) position.
This position provides admissions information to prospective students, directs communication between the college and prospective students, provides community outreach as needed, and provides academic advising to new students.
Job Duties:
• Provide admissions counseling to prospective students by maintaining direct contact with potential student (leads, applicants, and walk-ins) to assist them in completing the admission process and enrolling in classes.
• Maintain a database of prospective students and track progress through the admissions process.
• Register new students for first semester classes and help enrolled students schedule future advising appointments with an assigned faculty advisor.
• Assist in coordinating on-campus events that showcase MCTC programs and services.
• Assist in coordinating special events, including new student orientation, new student registration events, student activities, and graduation events.
• Provides general guidance to students who need help navigating resources such as academic support services, mentoring and career counseling programs, mental and physical health care services, and financial management services.
• Support student programs designed for targeted student populations, such as first-year students, transfer students, first-generation college students, and/or low-income college students.
• Create and distribute communications to targeted student audiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, two or more years of related experience.
