Our mission is to support small and medium-sized businesses by offering flexible funding options. We're seeking a driven, detail-oriented Funding & Collections Account Manager to join our team and take ownership of daily funding operations, portfolio collections, and legal coordination.

Role Overview
As the Funding & Collections Account Manager, you will be a central part of the operations team—responsible for ensuring smooth and compliant funding, executing soft collections, maintaining merchant account data, and collaborating with legal partners for escalated cases. This position requires a strong understanding of MCA structures, high attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
Funding Operations
  • Coordinate daily funding calls with underwriting, sales, and funding teams
  • Scrub and validate merchant applications, ensuring completeness and compliance
  • Enter and manage merchant data within CRM systems accurately
  • Assist in document preparation and file management pre- and post-funding
Collections & Recovery
  • Conduct soft collections: professionally communicate with merchants about payment delays, NSFs, or skipped payments
  • Track and manage ACH activity; identify chargebacks, anomalies, and risk trends
  • Update merchant payment statuses and maintain comprehensive account records
  • Apply appropriate recovery strategies based on MCA paper types (A–D tiers)
⚖️ Legal Coordination
  • Accurately identify and escalate uncollectable files to legal or third-party collection agencies
  • Support the legal process by preparing documents, case notes, and communication logs
  • Understand and navigate state-specific collection laws and litigation protocols
Reporting & Compliance
  • Generate and submit weekly internal reports on collections activity and legal progress
  • Ensure all activity is in compliance with internal standards and relevant regulations (e.g., FDCPA-adjacent practices)
  • Assist in refining internal workflows and policies for collection and funding operations
Team & Merchant Support
  • Act as a point of contact for merchants regarding payment plans, balances, and account questions
  • Identify opportunities for account settlement, renewal, or restructuring
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members in collections and account management processes
  • Provide actionable insights into merchant behavior and delinquency trends

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Legal Studies, or related field
  • 1–3+ years of experience in MCA, financial services, collections, or legal administration
  • Strong knowledge of MCA structures, funding processes, and risk tiers
  • Familiarity with collections best practices and state-specific recovery laws
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency with CRM tools, Excel, and payment tracking platforms is a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
