The MBA Human Resources Intern bridges theoretical business strategy with practical workplace operations. They typically support talent acquisition, analyze HR metrics, and help refine company policies. This role offers hands-on exposure to both operational tasks and strategic initiatives, such as employee engagement and succession planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition: Assist with full-cycle recruiting, from writing job descriptions and screening resumes to coordinating interviews.
  • Onboarding & Induction: Help organize new hire orientations, prepare training materials, and ensure smooth integration of new employees.
  • Strategic HR Projects: Analyze HR metrics, conduct market research for salary benchmarking, and assist in developing or refining company policies.
  • Employee Relations: Help administer engagement surveys, coordinate team-building events, and field staff inquiries regarding HR policies and benefits.
  • HR Data & Compliance: Update internal HRIS databases, ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., FMLA, ADA), and assist with record management.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a Master's degree in Human Resources Management.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with HR information systems (HRIS), applicant tracking systems (ATS), and proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Business Acumen: A solid understanding of business operations and a strategic approach to organizational development.
  • Preferred
  • Prior internship or work experience in HR, talent development, organizational consulting, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Balanced Scorecard, OKRs, the 12-Week Year, or similar strategy-execution frameworks
  • Familiarity with federal contracting or interest in learning the federal market.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms, applicant tracking systems, or HR analytics tools.
  • SHRM-CP candidacy, a PHR, or comparable HR credential in progress.
