Position: Laser Operators
Department: Manufacturing / Machining
Shift Available: 3rd shift
Hours: Fridays, Saturdays amp; Sundays 5:00am to 5:30pm

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Laser / Mazak Operator to set up, operate, and maintain Mazak and YAG laser machines. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards in aerospace manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily startup checks (oil, water levels, and other machine parameters) according to maintenance manuals.
  • Set up new jobs or continue existing jobs on Mazak and YAG laser machines.
  • Program or edit machines for scheduled jobs.
  • Inspect the first piece before submitting for first article inspection; perform in-process inspections based on part sampling.
  • Maintain clean workstations, removing slag buildup and preventing hazards.
  • Always follow laser safety procedures per OSHA Guidelines ANSI Z136.1 (manual available in the Laser Room).
  • Monitor and maintain machine oil levels, chiller water, and filters; perform maintenance per Mazak guidelines.
  • Clean optics and align the beam from the final focus lens through the “A” and “B” axis mirrors.

Required Experience amp; Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience operating and setting up Mazak amp; YAG laser machines.
  • Proficiency with Mazak amp; Fanuc L-64 and Fanuc Series 160i-LB controllers.
  • Experience with software: Mazak Smart System 2D, FG-CADCAM, AutoCAD; Inventor a plus.
  • Strong math skills and ability to read aerospace blueprints; capable of holding close tolerances.
  • Experience performing in-process inspections with precision measuring tools (must provide own tools).
  • Team-oriented, dependable, professional, and strong work ethic.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
