Job description

We are looking for aMaintenance Mechanic to join Kaiser Aluminum inLos Angeles!

Purpose of Position: Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all production and plant support systems.

  • Hourly rate $32.66per hour.
  • 2-10PM or 10-6AM and 3-4 weekends a month, typically one weekend a month off.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Maximo (CMMS) to manage daily work assignments, document labor, and track asset history.
  • Execute daily maintenance work orders accurately and within established safety protocols.
  • Perform comprehensive preventive maintenance (PM) services and detailed inspection tasks to identify potential failure modes.
  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to eliminate recurring defects and improve Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex industrial systems, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components.
  • Diagnose PLC system malfunctions and perform repairs on instrumentation, relays, and control circuits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Engineering, and KPS, to achieve plant-wide reliability goals.
  • Apply Lean manufacturing principles and 5S standards to all maintenance activities and workspace management.
  • Identify opportunities for PM optimization and improve spare parts inventory controls.
  • Develop bill of materials (BOM) lists for required repairs and document all parts usage in Maximo.
  • Must perform combustion safety checks, leak tests, and maintain gas train components for melting and holding furnaces.

Relationships

  • Reports to the Maintenance TAL, Supervisor and Maintenance Manager.
