Job description

School Bus Driver
Achievement Charter Academy's mission is to foster individual achievement by teaching students to be self-directed learners and community contributors in a respectful, diverse, and inclusive learning environment. ACA  uses the Glasser Quality School (GQS) model as a guide to create a school culture that teaches and uses Choice Theory to support relationships based on trust and respect. The GQS model emphasizes Total Learning Competency and producing Quality Work to encourage self-directed learning and individual achievement. The model emphasizes the value of respect, diversity, inclusion, and community and promotes a school environment that is viewed by stakeholders as a joyful place.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Transport ACA students to and from school Monday-Friday to community bus stops in Wake and Harnett County.
  • Check bus for safety.
  • Clean interior of bus daily.
  • Complete student attendance logs daily.
  • Communicate with Office Manager regarding any issues with late parents and maintenance issues.
We follow a traditional calendar model with school being in session from August to June. This is a part time position that does an AM and PM run. Assistant may be needed on occasion to transport students to and from off campus activities.
Qualifications:
  • Reliable and safety-minded Possess an NC Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and P&S Endorsement (Passengers and School Bus).
  • Must be 18 years old. Must possess a valid NC driver's license.
  • Must have had a valid driver's license for a minimum of two years.
  • No conviction of any moving violation.
  • No pending charge of any moving violation.
  • No more than one charge of any moving violation, regardless of disposition.
  • Willingness to use and apply the Choice Theory model.
