Cortellucci Vaughan hospital serves a large and diverse community with more than 4000 deliveries per year. There is an on-site level 2c NICU, genetics, pediatric cardiology and OB medicine clinic. Position Overview

Mackenzie Health is currently recruiting an RCSPC-certified Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Specialist (FTE: 0.5) to expand our current MFM program. The physician will participate in shared OB call and have access to state-of-the-art equipment at both sites while managing a busy MFM clinic and antepartum unit. The clinic runs full-time, Monday to Friday also providing amniocentesis and fetal echocardiography on-site to provide timely diagnosis and management. The MFM will provide consultation services at Mackenzie Health to support the OB services.

Qualifications:

The Physician must possess the following competencies:

  • Ability to provide appropriate consultation of high-risk pregnancies, manage high-risk antenatal inpatient care, ultrasound reporting, amniocentesis, prenatal diagnosis, elective cesarean delivery skills
  • Management of complex pregnancies including maternal medical conditions, fetal anomalies, and complications of pregnancy including growth restriction, multi-fetal gestations and preeclampsia.
  • Comply with the call schedule established by the Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology to ensure that Hospital services are covered 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Be available for consultation with professional colleagues during inpatient days.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects within the department.
  • Participate in staff and departmental meetings.
  • Maintain clinical acumen and skills within scope of practice.
  • Demonstrate excellence in clinical care.
  • Abide by the Professional Staff By-Law and Professional Staff Rules of the
  • Hospital and the Public Hospital Act and other applicable legislation.
  • Demonstrate understanding of, compliance with, and commitment to patient safety responsibilities and corresponding program plans, policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients.

Education - Certification - Licenses

  • Medical degree approved by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) required.
  • Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology as recognized by The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or equivalent as recognized by the Provincial Licensing Body required.
  • Royal college-approved fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine or equivalent.Canadian Medical Protection Association in good standing.

  • HOCC for on-call
