We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Materials Planning Specialist. This position will be located in Rolla, MO. Summary: Materials Planning Specialists and Production Planners play a crucial role in chemical manufacturing by coordinating the procurement and inventory management of materials to meet production schedules and customer demands. They analyze demand forecasts, manage inventory levels, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials. They also oversee the implementation, improvement, and maintenance of operations, processes, and systems related to manufacturing, inventory, and planning. They focus on executing sales and operations plans, securing approvals for plan implementation, and maintaining a practical master schedule to efficiently use material and production resources. Both Production Planners and Materials Planning Specialists contribute to effective production and resource utilization in the chemical manufacturing process. Responsibilities: Materials Planning Specialist I
  • Assist in analyzing supply and demand forecasts and imbalances. Collaborate with other functional groups to prevent material shortages.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Confer with order management to determine customer demand.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify opportunities for optimization. Report issues with material stocking levels, formulas, routings, and recipes.
  • Utilize available production planning tools to create and maintain the master production schedule and ensure maintenance and accuracy.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation related to materials planning activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address supply chain issues and improve processes.
  • Assist in implementing inventory control measures to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
Education & Credentials:
  • Minimum 6 years relevant experience or
  • Associateโ€™s degree in closely related field and minimum 2 years of relevant experience or
  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or closely related field or
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience.
