Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Materials Handler with expertise in AS9100, the aerospace industry's quality management system standard. As a Materials Handler, you will be responsible for effectively managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials within our organization. Your role will be crucial in ensuring efficient inventory control, accurate documentation, and compliance with AS9100 requirements. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of the AS9100 standard.
Responsibilities:
Materials Management:
Receive incoming materials, verify contents against accompanying documentation, and inspect for quality and accuracy.
Identify and properly label materials for storage or distribution, ensuring adherence to AS9100 requirements.
Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels, reconcile discrepancies, and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
Implement proper storage techniques to ensure the preservation and protection of materials, including adherence to handling and environmental requirements.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintain detailed records of incoming and outgoing materials, including quantities, lot numbers, serial numbers, and other relevant information.
Create and update material handling documents, such as packing lists, bills of lading, and inventory reports.
Ensure all documentation is completed accurately, promptly, and in compliance with AS9100 standards.
AS9100 Compliance:
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of AS9100 requirements and ensure all material handling activities adhere to these standards.
Participate in audits and inspections related to AS9100 compliance, providing necessary documentation and support.
Identify areas for improvement in material handling processes to enhance efficiency and meet AS9100 standards.
Collaborate with quality assurance and other departments to address non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with procurement, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure timely and accurate material availability for manufacturing processes.
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding material availability, shortages, and delivery schedules.
Provide support to other departments, as needed, by fulfilling material requests and maintaining proper material flow.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (additional relevant certifications or education preferred).
AS9100 certification is required.
Proven experience as a Materials Handler or in a similar role, preferably in the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of AS9100 requirements and experience implementing them in daily operations.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality.
Proficiency in using computer systems and software for inventory management and documentation.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects and operate material handling equipment safely.
Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with various departments.
Familiarity with Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
