Job Description:

Young at Heart Pharmacy is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Materials Management Technician. As a vital part of our Materials Management team, you will be responsible for monitoring and helping control the inventory at the pharmacy. Additionally, you will maintain a positive and pleasant demeanor with all customers and colleagues while accurately fulfilling pharmacy materials needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor inventory levels
    1. Manage we-owes
    2. Utilize reorder points to ensure sufficient quantities
  • Make recommendations for replenishing inventory
  • Order inventory as needed
    1. Utilize Surecost to order appropriate medications
    2. Order medications and supplies online or by phone
  • Receive inventory daily
    1. Check in order using scanner to ensure correct medications received
    2. Ensure security of controlled substances during receiving
  • Place received medications in the appropriate locations
  • Print labels and pull drugs for daily mail delivery requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Active pharmacy technician license from the Indiana State Board of Pharmacy preferred.
  • Previous pharmacy experience extremely valuable and desired.

Working Conditions:

  • The normal working hours for an Inventory Technician are generally Monday through Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm, but may be adjusted on a case-by-case basis.
  • Alternating Saturday shifts are also required to support customers and production schedules from 8AM-2PM.
  • Participation in the on-call rotation is voluntary, with incentive pay provided.
  • Materials Management Technician team members must work well together as a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires standing for extended periods of time.
  • Heavy lifting is not required, but a technician should be able to lift up to 10lbs.
  • Technicians will be required to push wheeled carts containing a number of bins from one location to another.
  • Operating a desktop keyboard and mouse.
  • Communicating with employees, patients, caregivers, and physicians by phone, fax, and email in a courteous and professional manner.
