Essential Functions Statement(s)
  • Supervise daily shipping and receiving operations.
  • Ensure all customer shipments meet contractual, specification, and purchase order requirements.
  • Verify shipping documentation including:
  • Certificates of Conformance (C of C)
  • Packing slips
  • Material certifications
  • Export documentation (when applicable)
  • Customer-specific documentation packages
  • Ensure product traceability is maintained throughout the shipping process.
  • Coordinate shipment priorities with Production, Planning, Quality, and Customer Service.
  • Schedule domestic and international shipments using approved carriers.
  • Ensure proper packaging methods are used to prevent handling or corrosion damage.
  • Verify parts are properly identified, labeled, and packaged per customer requirements.
  • Monitor shipping schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies or customer complaints.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and packaging materials.
  • Train and develop shipping personnel on procedures, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area using 5S principles.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on delivery performance and process efficiency
  • Participate in internal, customer, and Nadcap audits.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and hazardous material shipping regulations.

Leadership Responsibilities

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
  • 5+ years of shipping/logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Aerospace manufacturing or metal finishing experience is strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of aerospace documentation requirements.
  • Understanding of AS9100 and Nadcap requirements.
  • Familiarity with plating and metal finishing operations.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Knowledge of domestic and international shipping procedures.
  • Experience with UPS, FedEx, DHL, and freight carriers.
