Job description

Looking to add Parts, Materials & Process Engineers to our growing team in Huntsville, AL. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Support customer Parts, Materials & Processes (PMP) requirements by preparing, reviewing, and submitting required documentation, including ADPMPLs, NSMARs, NSMPARs, variances, supplier documentation, and subcontractor delivery requirement documents.
  • Participate in customer PMP Review Board meetings and provide technical support as needed.
  • Partner with engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle by:
    • Recommending materials based on performance and application requirements.
    • Developing and maintaining material specifications.
    • Reviewing engineering drawings and manufacturing plans for materials and process compliance.
    • Providing technical guidance to suppliers and manufacturing teams.
    • Supporting Engineering Review Boards (ERBs), Process Change Boards (PCBs), Failure Review Boards (FRBs), and customer technical interchange meetings.
  • Present technical updates and PMP status during Program Status Reviews (PSRs), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs).
  • Evaluate corrosion risks by performing galvanic compatibility assessments from engineering drawings and determining appropriate corrosion prevention and mitigation strategies for metallic components.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and sound engineering judgment to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in materials, manufacturing processes, and product performance.

U.S. Citizenship only, no dual citizenship 

Schedule is hybrid. Couple of days out of the week required onsite. 

Skills:
Familiar with MIL-STD-11991 or other DOD/Agency PMP requirements, such as the MDA PMAP.  Familiar with writing material specifications and process specifications.  Familiar with ASTM standards and industry material specifications. 

Education: 
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution in a field such as Materials Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering 



Max rate for level 3 is (USD) $56 per hour

Max rate for level 4 is (USD) $67 per hour

Max rate for level 5 is (USD) $80 per hour
