Job description

Job Title: R&D Scientist

Sepax Technologies, Inc. seeks a highly motivated and creative scientist who can work independently and develop new base materials for analytical chromatographic products. The R&D Scientist will explore and develop novel base materials for stationary phase in chromatography and help develop new products to meet customers’ separation needs. This position is based at our headquarter office located in Newark, Delaware.

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in material science, polymer science, synthetic chemistry, or related disciplines.

  • 1 to 3 years relevant experience in material chemistry.

  • Expertise in synthesizing new materials.

  • Physical characterization of synthesized new materials.

  • Innovative and problem-solving mindset; Agility to learn new analytical techniques and concepts.

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of product development for base material in chromatography, including development, qualification, and validation of test methods and implementation of test methods into a QC environment.

  • Help surface chemists to develop new stationary phase with the new material.  

  • Stay up to date on scientific literature in material science, analytical chromatography, and market trend.

  • Work with customers to find new opportunities.

  • Collaborate with production team to improve production process and product quality and consistency.

  • Serve as the technical lead for customer support when needed.

  • Analyze data and prepare detailed technical reports.

  • Provide presentations to summarize scientific findings internally and externally.

  • File patent applications.
