MATERIAL SCIENCE ENGINEER

The Material Science Engineer is a high-energy and experienced Material Scientist, with hands-on, practical experience. This position will accelerate the technical and commercial traction of our core technologies and products. Help us with our mission to save lives, by designing next generation flexible fuel cells and technical composites.

WHAT YOUโ€™LL BE DOING AS A MATERIAL SCIENCE ENGINEER:

  • Develop and execute trial plans.
  • Create new products on our varied composites, textile, coating, foam, and additive manufacturing technologies.
  • Work directly on 3D composites processing equipment and provide โ€œhands onโ€ support to manufacturing and process engineers.
  • Analyze test data of newly created products and raw materials.
  • Advance Technical Readiness and Manufacturing Readiness Levels.
  • Document processing conditions. test results, and other critical-to-quality data.
  • Conduct material characterizations for FEA modeling.
  • Research new composites materials and novel processes.
  • Create work instructions and SOPโ€™s for Quality System.

QUALIFICATIONS:

SKILLS YOU BRING TO THIS ROLE

  • Working knowledge of composites, textiles, foam, coating, and other processing equipment.
  • Working knowledge of materials testing equipment.
  • Eagerness to learn and explore advanced 3D composites, textile processes, and other Additive Manufacturing processes.
  • Working knowledge of advance fiber placement systems is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective team player, with strong critical thinking skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to create and read 3D Modeling is highly desired.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • 2+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Engineering Technology or relevant/related disciplines
