Job Overview
The Materials Manager is responsible for purchasing, receipt, control, and storage of Raw and Finished Goods materials inventory within a multi-site territory assignment including Texas and Oklahoma locations. The role is responsible for executing the materials management strategy in partnership with internal and external partners as necessary to efficiently support and scale with the business. The role oversees all aspects of finished goods and raw materials management including materials requirement planning, purchase orders, receiving, quality, inventory control, day to day vendor relations, and materials movement within operations and procurement guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
  • Work with the with cross functional leaders to implement industry leading materials management system
  • Use and implement a combination of Lean systems including visual management, pull Kanban signals, MRP, and sequencing
  • Build and lead a team focused on both tactical and strategic purchasing to optimize our inventory on hand, inventory control, and total cost of materials
  • Be a part of creating the ERP MS Dynamics roadmap and support the implementation
  • Work with the finance team to create and monitor a cycle count program
  • Ensure quantities of delivered material matches packing slips and notate any discrepancies before carrier leaves
  • Ensure current on hand inventory is correct through a successful cycle count program
  • Work with Procurement, Production, and Scheduling teams to identify and escalate any material shortages
  • Optimize raw material storage within the production facilities

Education - Experience Required
  • BS in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (or work experience equivalent)
  • 5+ yeas of Manufacturing or Supply Chain experience
  • Kanban and MRP experience
  • Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, and PPT
  • Ability to travel 50%
