Job description

Our company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchasing and Raw Material Manager to oversee our procurement activities and manage essential raw materials for our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing effective purchasing strategies, managing vendor relationships, and negotiating contracts. You will also ensure a seamless flow of materials to support production schedules and the timely and cost-effective acquisition of other goods and services. As a leader, you will guide a team of Material Handlers, providing direction and support to optimize their performance.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans to ensure a stable and cost-effective supply of raw materials.
  • Analyze market trends and conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and contracts with suppliers to maximize value.
  • Monitor and manage raw material inventory levels to prevent shortages or excesses.
  • Implement inventory control measures to optimize working capital.
  • Lead and inspire a team of Material Handlers, providing direction and support.
  • Conduct regular performance assessments and implement training programs as needed.
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that raw materials meet quality standards.
  • Address and resolve any quality issues related to purchased materials.
  • Work closely with finance and other relevant departments to control and reduce costs associated with raw material procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards in the procurement process.

Qualifications
