2nd Shift 3:30pm- Midnight -Monday-Friday

Job Description:

The Material Handler is responsible for bringing film to the machines in the converting department, and ensure production is not stopped due to lack of film available. Employee will be responsible for materials and supplies physical inventories with the frequency needed by the department.

Duties:

  • Bring film from WIP racks to each bag machine. The order number and productnumber must be verified for each roll to ensure correct film and order matches toproduction order in the machine.
  • For hot orders, bring film directly from the Press/Extrusion Department to the bag machs
  • Bring pallets of boxes (cartons), gaylord boxes and other supplies to the BoxMaker.
  • Keep warehouse area for WIP and boxes clean and organized at all times, and speciallyby shift end. Wt scrap gaylors by end of shift and report appropiately.
  • Perform weekly/monthly ACCURATE inventories of WIP, wickets, cardboard, cartons, liners, and any other supplies needed for the manufacturing of the product.
  • Employee must ensure no machine incurs into downtime due to lack of film, materials, or supplies.
  • Bring pallets from the yard as needed, and perform secondary inspection and document it. Ensure no machine runs out of pallets.
  • Organize materials and supplies the best possible and practical way for easy finding and to show a clean and organized warehouse. Remove used pallets, trash by end of shift.
  • Receive materials and supplies from outside suppliers, review and match BL and sign off. Place materials/supplies received in the designated area.
  • Must be in continuous communication with Supervisors, Foremen, Leadmen and clerical positions assisting the Dept Supervisors.
  • Perform and document daily/weekly forklift inspections.
  • Any other tasks required by the Production Department.


Requirements:

  • Must have a forklift certification, experienced with sit-down and stand-up. Fill out daily/weekly forklift inspection checklist
  • Ability to read order and product numbers
  • Good communication skills and positive attitude
  • Must be available if needed to work overtime or weekends if needed during end of month inventories or weekend production
  • Ability to read and follow the schedule
  • MUST be Bilingual: English & Spanish
