Job description

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

The material handler has several main responsibilities. The first is to ensure that all work stations have the necessary raw materials for the jobs they are running. This includes: bringing paper to the presses, printed sheets to the die cutters, cut blanks to the folders, and folded envelopes to the jets. To do this the material handler must have a basic understanding on reading job jackets and understanding what materials are needed for that job. The second responsibility is to keep the plant and warehouse floor clean and organized. This includes keeping pallets clear from aisles, paper and scrap clear from the floors. Third a material handler should assist bailing in bringing full cages from sheetfed, die cutting and folding. Fourth a material handler should assist when available in moving completed product from the folding stations into the correct position in the warehouse. Last a material handler must put safety at the upmost importance.
