Job description

Position Description:
Identifies and locates various production materials and supplies. Using a variety of methods (including forklift, carts and manually) moves and supplies materials to the production lines. Position may require driving on public roads requiring employee to meet state licensing requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Below are examples of the type of duties you could be responsible for:
• Read and follow work orders and labels
• Moving and manipulation of various materials and supplies
• Tape measure accuracy
• Communication skills - two way radio
• Read and sign for materials
• Basic math skills for inventory reporting
• Work independently
Qualifications:
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Basic reading, writing, & verbal skills
Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience:
Experience and education are a plus; however, it's not required. Wabash provides training for all assembler positions. Upon receiving an offer letter from us, you'll undergo orientation and several days of training, preparing you for the production floor.

Physical Demands:
As an Material Handler, you are regularly required to stand, walk, lean, push, climb, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, handle, and operate tools or controls for the entirety of their shift. The employee needs full range of motion in arms and hands, all Material Handlers must be able to successfully communicate with fellow employees as well. Some employees also work in small spaces throughout their shift
and frequently lift and/or carry objects weighting up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, along with good hand-eye coordination.
