Job description

2nd shift Material Handler (Mon-Thurs) 8pm.-6:30am
Department: Packaging Operations
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: LaGrange, GA
Description
  • To provide material handling assistance to the production department.

Key Responsibilities
  • To perform duties required by supervisor to include but not limited to the following:
  1. Prep metal and have ready prior to roll change. Assist pan operators in changing out parent rolls.
  2. Keep trays assembled and ready for use by press operators.
  3. Keep finished pallets wrapped, ticketed, and transferred to warehouse.
  4. Keep constant supply of items that are essential to the production.
  5. Keep trash bins emptied on a regular basis.
  6. Process bales of scrap metal. This includes but not limited to processing and distribution of all paperwork and location of finished bale(s) to proper location.
  7. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of plant to GMP standards by removing dust and debris, etc. Sweeping main aisles and perimeter runs on a daily basis. Keeping cobwebs removed from walls and ceilings.
  8. Any other duties as requested or required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Stamina sufficient to function effectively and work needed hours during extremely plant busy season.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Reading, writing and math ability sufficient to maintain the documents associated with the position.
  • Ability to safety operate forklift. Slip Sheet Experience preferred.
