Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Master Scheduler is to assign booked work to the appropriate manufacturing facility, using multiple considerations including, but not limited to, customer agreements, plant capability, quality policy, and plant utilization. The Master Scheduler has the additional responsibility for shifting of jobs from one facility to the next and the scheduling of non-linked jobs to fill capacity where possible. The Master Scheduler will perform high-level production reporting and perform sales customer service interface where needed. The Master Scheduler will also work closely with the Material Control Coordinator to control inventory levels including KanBan, named inventory, and standard product lines.

Extensive experience in scheduling multi- line/production facilities (5-8 Year Min) and B.A/B.S. degree in business administration or related field.

High degree of skill in MS Excel, and Oracle 11i preferred.

APICS-CPIM certification preferred.

Ability to produce top quality results with minimal supervision

Fortitude to consistently implement policies and procedures with personnel of varying levels of responsibility

Creativity to solve problems and ability/willingness to learn new skills

Develop/maintain Master Production Schedule/perform capacity planning at Plant and corporate level as needed.

Manage all Planner/Scheduling activities, corporate-wide assuring coverage and labor utilization is consistent with corporate goals.

Coordinate scheduling activities with the Sales and Marketing Divisions when constrained resources will affect our customer service levels.

Route jobs to plants for orders assuring efficient plant utilization consistent with corporate goals.

Train planning staff at all production facilities in material planning and systems, cross train production personnel where needed.

Reroute jobs to keep corporate utilization optimal, OT low, and shipments balanced across multiple facilities.

Review product mix requirements and plant capabilities and advise when additions for product mix may be necessary to maximize utilization.

Review/report on lead times for product classes with plant management as well as the sales and marketing team.

Track corporate sales numbers weekly, with VP of Production, for reporting in production meeting.

Assist in the development of the supply plan in cooperation with the Director of Materials Management (DoMM) and/or their designee.

Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data in order to perform rough cut capacity planning.

Additional assigned duties/reports as needed by the DoMM.

Provide guidance and expertise relating to all levels of planning within Zeus.

  • Candidate must reside within proximity of a Zeus manufacturing location.
