Job description

Job Title: Material Control Specialist I – 5388

Duration: long-term

Location: 1400 Highway 101 South, Greer, SC 29651       

Shift: A-Shift position

 

Occasionally have to work some Saturday shifts. This is on demand but they have a rotating schedule.

 

Must have requirements: SAP, MS Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word

 

Nice to have: German & Spanish

 

Must be onsite 100% during onboarding period, following this currently have 1 day per week work from home on rotating basis. Subject to change."

 

Purpose/ Responsibilities: Efficiently ensures availability of the required quantity of exact parts at the needed time to support Plant  Spartanburg production program and TS-M (Material Planning) targets as they align to Plant Spartanburg goals.

·        Controls supplies and stock by timely planning the correct quantity of parts, while at the same time  optimizing the stock on hand.

·        Performs basic data processing and parameter administration in the Material Planning system.

·        Supports on-going series production, parts run-in and run-out, and processing of technical changes  within this scope is the minimization of obsolescence costs.

·        Maintains and analyzes monthly Supplier rating and yearly SUMIS (Supplier Management Information  System) rating information as applicable.

·        Participates in TS-M projects, or projects led outside TS-M.

·        Acts as a contact to all suppliers and carriers, logistics association, and institutions.

·        Performs other duties as assigned by BMWMC operations supervisor.

Experience/Education: BA/BS degree in Logistics, Business Administration, International Business or 4 years equivalent professional experience in Material Planning including Material Requirements Planning (MRP).

·        2 years of related professional experience in Material Planning including Material   Requirements Planning (MRP) a plus

·        1-3 years of experience in Supply Chain Management   

·        1-3 years of experience in Material Control and Production Control Management.
