Job purpose

Shredfast, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Human Resources Generalist to support our hardworking team in Airway Heights, WA. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and is looking for a consistent, flexible schedule while maintaining meaningful impact.

Working directly with company leadership, this position plays a key role in supporting the full employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance, and helping drive a positive, productive workplace culture.

This is a critical support role within the organization where your work directly supports daily operations, employee experience, and long-term organizational success.


Schedule
  • Part-Time: 30 hours per week 
  • Monday - Thursday 
  • 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (flexible within business needs) 
  • Non-Exempt 

Enjoy a 3-day weekend every week while staying engaged in a dynamic and essential role.

Key Responsibilities

This role covers a broad range of HR functions, including:

  • Maintain and update employee policies, handbook, and internal communications 
  • Clearly communicate company policies and procedures to staff 
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes 
  • Conduct exit interviews and support employee transitions 
  • Assist biweekly payroll in Paylocity, including timecard and PTO review 
  • Oversee benefits administration, including 401(k) coordination and enrollments 
  • Handle compliance-related items: 
    • FMLA / PFMLA 
    • L&I claims 
    • OSHA reporting (300, 300A, 301) 
    • COBRA and garnishments 
  • Support performance management and employee reviews 
  • Partner with leadership on disciplinary actions, including terminations 
  • Coordinate safety programs, committee meetings, and staff training 
  • Assist with annual benefits renewals alongside broker 
  • Coordinate company events and internal engagement efforts

Requirements

What You Bring
  • Minimum 3+ years of HR experience 
  • Experience with payroll systems (Paylocity preferred) 
  • Strong working knowledge of: 
    • Benefits administration 
    • Compensation and wage structures 
    • Employment compliance and HR best practices 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google Docs 
  • Experience creating internal communications and materials, including presentations, company announcements, and slideshows (Canva or similar tools) 
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety practices, including supporting PPE compliance, safety training, and employee safety program coordination 
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines 
  • Strong communication skills and professional judgment 
  • Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and accountability 
  • Detail-oriented and thorough in execution 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others
