Overview:
Vice President of Finance - Solar will focus on the long-term success of the fast-growing Solar business Unit. The successful candidate integrates into the business by having primary responsibility for business planning, reporting and analysis and other financial-related activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides Business Partnership leadership in the development and continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategy
• Able to understand and explain the income statement and balance sheet impact of various business decisions
• Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts
• Provide Business oversight to the Solar Accounting Organization and systems. Working closely with the Chief Accounting Officer who provides functional oversight of Solar Accounting
• Responsible for building a capable team including recruiting, developing and promoting staff along with developing back up and succession plans
• Evaluates and advises on long range planning, new initiatives, strategies and regulatory action affecting the business
• Establish and maintain strong relationships to identify business needs and support objectives
• Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, and reporting
• Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
• Ensure effective internal controls are in place and continued compliance with applicable laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
• Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
• BS in Accounting or Finance, MBA and/or CPA desirable
• 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in the construction industry with a focus on self-performed work
• Experience evaluating and installing ERP systems
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization
• Business acumen and support mindset to actively collaborate with business leaders
• Strong problem solving and the ability to exercise judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
