We are hiring for a Corporate Controller at our client in Providence, RI

Position Summary:
 We are assisting a client seeking an experienced Controller to manage its finance and accounting operations and play a key leadership role within the organization. The position requires extensive nonprofit finance and accounting experience and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, complex, fast-paced, and dynamic environment. The Controller managers the financial and accounting operations of of the business. They are responsible for the day-to-day finance and accounting operations, including financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, billing, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll. They also develop and improve financial processes and procedures, as well as adapt and improve the systems and infrastructure needed. The Controller is a key leader and services as a member of the executive team, employing a collaborative spirit and commitment to providing timely, accurate, high-quality information and service.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related degree; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • A genuine commitment to mission.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Strong financial leadership, carrying best practices to the organization, coupled with a hands-on, "get the job done," tactical work style.
  • Success managers month-end and year-end close processes and timelines.
  • High proficiency in accounting and financial management systems and business operations, as well as in the use of standard office software.
  • Proven experience managing finance teams with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information and work effectively with non-financial colleagues at all levels.
  • Skilled in building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
