Job description

We are currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Accounting Manager to join our team. Offices are throughout New England, but this position would report to the Cranston, Rhode Island office of The Hilb Group of New England. Dynamic opportunity for an insurance agency accounting professional to join a growing organization. The individual will oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and GL.
Essential Job Functions include:
  • Oversee daily transactions of AP, AR and GL.
  • Ensure the adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies (GAAP).
  • Assist the Agency Controller in various audit and tax preparation functions as well preparing financial summary presentations for executive management.
  • Will handle the accounting and multiple financial Account analysis for balance sheet, income, and expense accounts.
  • Provide accounting and finance support, in conjunction with the Controller, to the Regional Finance Accounting Director and Agency Leadership.
  • Assist with annual budgets and forecast.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel application skills and knowledge.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines.

Qualifications include:
  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Prior Managerial or Supervisory experience is required.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, having time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Proactive, independent thinker who seeks ways to improve existing processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess initiative, energy, and drive.
  • Ability to professionally interact with all levels of management and co-workers.
  • Provide support to external auditors during reviews and audits.
  • Experience with AMS360 a plus.
