Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Electrical Engineering Manager located in Dallas, TX.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Electrical Engineering Manager provides strategic and technical leadership for the electrical engineering department. This role is responsible for overseeing engineering operations, driving innovation, and ensuring successful execution of projects through hands-on guidance and tactical flexibility. This role requires a strong technical engineering background, proven leadership capabilities, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to drive engineering excellence and project success.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Define and execute long-term engineering strategies and align them with company goals, regulatory frameworks, and industry advancements.
  • Champion initiatives related to innovation and modernization within the industry.
  • Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers and test technicians, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Represents engineering in strategic customer engagements; builds and maintains strong relationships with key customers.
  • Leads cross-functional initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and product reliability; participates in shaping customer strategy and retention in partnership with business development group.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and validation of electrical systems and components for new and existing products related to substations, switchgear, transformers, protective relays, and power distribution.
  • Drives collaboration with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineering, project management, and manufacturing to ensure design for manufacturability.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to meet operational and strategic goals.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality standards.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to guide strategic planning and innovation.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of engineering staff.
  • Provide technical guidance and decision-making support on complex engineering challenges.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, including 2+ years in a leadership role
  • Technical knowledge of protection & control systems, medium voltage switchgear protection, low voltage systems for substation control buildings for AC & DC power, and power systems analysis.
  • Knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, NEC, and other industry applicable standards and codes.
  • Proven track record of managing engineering teams and complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, tools, and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with budget management and strategic planning.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
