Job Summary:

The Securities Division is seeking a Forensic Accountant who wants to immediately handle significant financial fraud cases, sometimes involving millions of dollars, to protect the public. This position will join a group of like-minded accountants, attorneys and investigators in the investigation and enforcement of the Arizona Securities Act and Investment Management Act. The position offers the benefit of interesting and challenging work in a non-corporate environment.

Job Duties:

You will be responsible for determining the appropriate methods and procedures for carrying out the forensic accountants' responsibilities. You will handle your own caseload providing forensic accounting analyses to case teams and testify in administrative, civil and criminal proceedings.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of forensic accounting techniques, especially relating to asset tracing
Ability to explain complex accounting principles and analyses to enforcement staff and other parties without accounting experience, including testifying in judicial proceedings
Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills
Excellent writing skills
Accounting research skills
Advanced Excel skills
Time management and prioritization skills
Ability to defend analyses in contentious proceedings
Ability to prepare accounting exhibits
Must be licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or comparable designation
Minimum 2 years of forensic accounting or fraud investigation experience

Selective Preference(s):

Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF)
Trial experience
Experience in the securities industry and/or financial fraud cases
Excel VBA skills
