Dewberry is seeking a Civil/Highway Program Manager for its Boston, MA office. The team player we seek must have a BS/MS degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering and 20+ years of highway and street design experience on MassDOT, MBTA, Massport and municipal projects or similar public agency/municipal projects. The candidate will be responsible for the production of design plans, project specifications and report preparation. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact in a project design team environment is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review design plans, engineering estimates, technical specifications, and details related to the design of highway and street infrastructure.
  • Develop conceptual and final project documents, including horizontal and vertical alignments, roadway and site grading, construction staging, signage, pavement markings, traffic signals, drainage systems, utilities, etc.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Perform the duties of a Senior Project Manager.
  • Supervise staff as assigned.

Required Skills & Required Experience
  • 20+ years of experience in transportation, highway, and street design, or closely related engineering
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S., or B.A.) in Civil Engineering and a minimum of twenty (20) years related experience in general civil engineering with an emphasis on highway/roadway design, as well as stormwater management/watershed analysis.
  • MA Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
  • Understanding of civil engineering principles with experience in highway/roadway engineering, site grading, drainage and utility design, stormwater management, maintenance, and protection of traffic (MPT).
  • Experience with Massachusetts (city, state, and local) agencies such as MassDOT, MBTA, Massport is a plus.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical drawings and identifying discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.
  • Knowledge of FHWA MUTCD, AASHTO, MassDOT, MBTA and Massport standards.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D required.
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain accuracy while handling multiple assignments in a dynamic company environment.
  • Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required.

Salary Range
The projected range for this position is $174,388 to $224,213 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for Boston, MA only.
