Job Overview

Calvert Masonry Inc., a respected leader in commercial masonry and masonry/concrete repair, is looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Project Manager - General Contracting to join our growing team. In this role, you may manage scopes of work ranging from rainscreen, traditional Masonry, or renovation work on challenging commercial and industrial projects. You'll serve as the central point of coordination for material procurement, change orders, scheduling, field support, and more-ensuring our projects stay on track, within budget, and aligned with Calvert's commitment to craftsmanship and safety.

As a Project Manager, you will lead your own project(s) with oversight from senior leadership. You'll be expected to operate independently, bring proactive solutions, and ensure excellence in execution across multiple fronts.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare compliant but in favor of the company submittals and proactively pursue approvals aligned with cost and schedule requirements.
Conduct detailed reviews of contract drawings; draft and manage RFIs; document responses and revisions.
Review and price GC-generated RFIs for contract impacts; update project documentation accordingly.
Interface with General Contractors and other subcontractors to coordinate work and resolve conflicts.
Monitor jobsite productivity, quality, and safety through regular site visits; work directly with field leadership.
Maintain and distribute logs for submittals, RFIs, changes, production, and monthly project reports.
Perform material take-offs and coordinate procurement; negotiate best pricing; prepare and issue purchase orders.
Process invoices and verify subcontractor and supplier performance on-site.
Develop and submit billings and SOVs; ensure timely approval and payment follow-ups.
Provide layout and technical support on-site as needed for field staff.
Identify and report any jobsite safety concerns and work with teams to implement corrective actions.
Monitor project schedule alignment with manpower, equipment, and field sequencing.
Track and respond to job changes; prepare cost impacts and pursue signed change orders.
Resolve project issues directly or escalate for senior-level resolution when necessary.
Generate manpower and quantity projections to support field planning and production monitoring.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in construction project management, ideally with a subcontractor.
Strong experience in masonry or masonry/concrete repair projects.
Deep understanding of subcontractor-specific PM responsibilities (material coordination, change orders, detailed logistics).
Associate's Degree preferred or equivalent field experience.
Highly organized, self-sufficient, and capable of managing multiple concurrent responsibilities.
Skilled in reading plans, scopes, and specifications.
Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
Familiarity with project control logs, submittal systems, and billing documentation.
