What You’ll Do

The AVP of Marketing, Marshalls, joins a team of leaders responsible for formulating and implementing a holistic marketing strategy, with the intention of driving short- and long-term growth for the brand. AVP leaders have a strong understanding of business priorities, macro trends and consumer insights, and can easily translate them into business and brand strategies. They help establish and lead clear and compelling visions for the brand and translate brand and business strategy into effective channel strategies and creative briefs, motivating teams and stakeholders.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing for Marshalls, this specific role is responsible for our digital properties (site & e-mail), overall in-store environment, inclusive of seasonal signage & the TJX Rewards loyalty program and New Stores. This role will partner with key stakeholders in Store Operations, Store Design, Merchandising and Loyalty to craft a vision and strategy that clarifies Marshalls’ offering; conveys the brand identity and creates shopping environments that are easy, fun and underscore the value proposition.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Set Annual and ongoing vision and strategy for Customer Experience team and all associated workstreams
  • Collaborate with other marketing AVPs on ongoing holistic brand strategy and vision across all marketing channels
  • Partner with Merchant Team to understand and direct quarterly/seasonal content development strategy and execution (digital and in-store)
  • Responsible for the development and execution of retail marketing plan; seasonal sign packages, merchandise department opportunities and field opportunities
  • Partner with TJX Loyalty team to understand and integrate opportunities to grow awareness and applications of TJX Rewards specific to Marshalls
  • Partner with Store Operations and Store Design to deliver new store prototypes vision & design
  • Oversee marketing of new store openings and relocations to drive awareness and deliver an excellent in-store experience
  • Oversee marketing plans for Puerto Rico market
  • Key marketing liaison with the store operations and field, responsible for keeping them informed of marketing programs
  • Oversee internal communications to drive awareness, excitement and engagement behind Brand initiatives among key audiences – Board, TJX, Field, etc.
  • Lead a team of 5 high performing associates – cultivating a culture in which each associate feels welcomed, valued and engaged.

Minimum formal education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Minimum experience required to perform this job:

  • 15+ years brand marketing experience with a specific emphasis on brand strategy, customer experience via agency or client side
  • Direct experience building brand strategies and plans
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing and directing integrated communications plans and associated execution
  • Developed leadership skills along with proven experience managing multiple teams and multiple marketing functions

This position has a starting salary range of $139,900 to $181,700 per year.

Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

This position is eligible for an annual incentive as well as long-term incentives.
