BANQUET SERVER (Courtyard by Marriott Lincoln Downtown)
Compensation: Hourly
The purpose of this position is to interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining and meeting at the hotel. Banquet Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.
Banquet Server will follow through with the proper and timely set-up and execution of banquet events. Set up includes tables, chairs, stages, dance floors and audio visual equipment. Maintain a high degree of professionalism. Maintain all equipment and facilities in an organized, clean, and safe environment.
General Responsibilities
-Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) at the beginning of each shift to ensure room are set as contracted.
-Prepare rooms for use; adjusting lights, sound volumes, and temperature as needed before guests arrive.
-Be in communication with the lead event staff regarding any special needs. Assist in ensuring that the events are on time.
-Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the banquet space.
-Communicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from guest to Events Manager.
-Ensure that meeting rooms are re-set for next event contract if it is within one day of previous event.
-Keep inventory of all banquet equipment in order and stored in their appropriate areas.
-Provide all group guests with a lasting experience of the hotel with intent for return business.
-Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
-Delivering Alcoholic and Non-alcoholic drinks for service to your customers table. Properly open and pour wine at the tableside.
-Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
-Greet all guests and owners warmly with an appropriate greeting.
-Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
-Understands and can communicate products and services available at the hotel.
Job Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Previous serving experience preferred, excellent oral communication skills required, positive interpersonal skills required.
License/Qualifications:
