Position Summary
Garnet Hotels is seeking an enthusiastic and guest-focused Barista to join the Delta Hotels Café team at Delta Hotels Matteson Chicago.
Our café serves Starbucks® coffee and specialty beverages, providing hotel guests and visitors with a premium coffee experience. The Barista will prepare handcrafted beverages, serve grab-and-go food items, process transactions, maintain café presentation, and deliver genuine Marriott hospitality.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with guests, has a passion for coffee, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
  •  Prepare coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and specialty drinks according to approved recipes. 
  •  Welcome guests and provide friendly, personalized service. 
  •  Accurately take orders and process POS transactions. 
  •  Maintain knowledge of beverages, pastries, grab-and-go items, and promotions. 
  •  Recommend beverages and food pairings. 
  •  Ensure consistent beverage quality and presentation. 
  •  Stock coffee, food items, cups, condiments, and café supplies. 
  •  Maintain clean and organized service counters, seating areas, and display cases. 
  •  Monitor product freshness and rotate inventory using FIFO procedures. 
  •  Assist with deliveries, receiving, and inventory storage. 
  •  Follow food-safety, sanitation, and health-department requirements. 
  •  Complete opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties. 
  •  Address guest concerns promptly and professionally. 
  •  Work with other hotel departments to support an excellent guest experience. 
Qualifications
  •  Previous café, coffee shop, restaurant, hotel, retail, or customer-service experience is preferred. 
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  •  Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. 
  •  Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. 
  •  Dependable attendance and punctuality. 
  •  Basic math, cash-handling, and POS skills. 
  •  Ability to work shifts beginning at 5:00 a.m. 
  •  Availability to work weekends and holidays. 
  •  ServSafe Food Handler certification or ability to obtain it upon hire. 
Preferred Experience
  •  Previous barista experience 
  •  Espresso-beverage preparation experience 
  •  Knowledge of Starbucks® beverages and recipes

  •  Point-of-sale system experience 
Physical Requirements
  •  Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
