Job description

This position sits on the Marketing Strategy & Execution team in U.S. Merchant Marketing, Global Marketing Execution & Analytics (UMGEA) and provides an exciting opportunity to strengthen marketing skills, gain experience in experiential marketing and external partner management and collaborate with teams across GMNS and the Blue Box. This Sr. Analyst will play a key role on the GMNS Trade team to leverage strategic trade relationships to drive brand visibility, client engagement, and commercial outcomes.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 2-3 years of experience in either business development, strategic planning, event management and/or marketing roles required
  • Results driven with the ability to work under pressure, navigate through ambiguity, and balance multiple priorities
  • Ability to think strategically while also focusing on the details
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), comfortable presenting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong team player and collaborator who has a positive attitude, is naturally curious, and enjoys learning new skills and can adapt to changing circumstances 
  • Knowledge of experiential marketing a plus

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions. 

  • Support Senior Managers on strategy & execution of marquee events including NRF Big Show, Money 20/20 and Aspen F&W
  • Manage the Trade team budget and invoicing process and support SQP alignment, meeting all hurdles and commitment deadlines
  • Support SLT briefings and blue box collaboration to optimize Trade impact across the enterprise
  • Support contract negotiation and management of strategic Trade partnerships to drive team strategy and GMNS goals 
  • Advance measurement strategy for Trade activations and partnerships through clear KPI's to optimize Trade's impact on the business 
  • Stay up to date on experiential marketing trends and identify opportunities to strengthen our activations through innovative solutions and Test & Learn opportunities
  • 10-15% Travel to various trade events
