Job description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Marketing Director to join our team. As Marketing Director, you will lead the marketing and sales support efforts for Juris Banking, Business Escrow Services, and Government Banking, key commercial banking business lines for Western Alliance Bank. You'll be a leader in the marketing department and serve the organization as a whole with a broad scope of responsibilities across national geographies. A key responsibility is to be a strategic partner for executives, business units and departments on brand management, public relations, event marketing and business development initiatives. You'll be responsible for translating business goals into measurable marketing outcomes, leveraging market insights, competitive intelligence, and analytics. You'll also be responsible for leading marketing strategies and budgets for your business lines, new or enhanced products, company strategic initiatives and special projects.

  • Responsible for supporting the Chief Marketing Officer in maintaining a consistent corporate image.
  • Support key business line leaders with customer experience management, sales support, public relations activities and help to identify and pursue market opportunities.
  • Responsible for high profile and specialty projects for the company.
  • Lead the development and placement of marketing assets for all media outlets (print, radio, TV, online, billboard, etc.).
  • Lead development of promotions and campaigns to support the selling of bank products and services.
  • Lead development of presentation decks, talking points and other materials for executives and other spokespeople. Also responsible for ensuring the website content is fresh and engaging and compliant for auditing purposes. Manage the design and content of the business line collateral.
  • Lead marketing strategies and budgets for the lines of businesses, new or enhanced products, company strategic initiatives and special projects. Oversee the marketing budget including reforecasting and planning.
  • Analyze and report on return on investment for marketing spend.
  • Partner with management on sponsorships, donations, and Community Reinvestment Act contributions.
  • Lead market and competitive research. Act as an advisor for business lines and ensure positioning is effective. Also responsible for maintaining collection of final reporting on event marketing initiatives and making recommendations on future event marketing investments.
  • Lead and develop a team; responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, training and development.
What you'll need:
  • 12+ years of related experience in Marketing & Communications or similar field.
  • High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of marketing campaign management across channels. Knowledge of marketing processes including but not limited to creative work, messaging, managing agencies and vendors, budgeting, etc.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Advanced skills in personal computer operation, marketing program management, Workfront or other project management tools.
  • Advanced Experience in Financial Services and/or Banking, or similar field.
  • Expert speaking and writing communication skills.
  • May require up to 20% travel.
