JTB Hawaii Travel, LLC, (JHT) has evolved and expanded its operations, from an on-the-ground travel support services to inbound Japan travelers, to establishing itself as Hawaii's market leader in innovative entertainment and travel services. JTB Hawaii Travel continues to develop and integrate its expertise, experience and synergy in travel planning, destination promotion and event management as it seeks to further solidify its position as a full-fledged destination management company (DMC).

Pay Range: $17.00 to $22.50 hourly
Primary Responsibilities: Under the general direction of the Hawaii Product Department Supervisor, this position supports the planning, contracting, promotion, operation, and administration of Hawaii Product offerings.
This role assists with product setup, reservations coordination, vendor communication, contract administration, sales support, digital content updates, and data management to ensure the successful operation and promotion of Hawaii Products.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
a. Associate degree, college degree, or equivalent work experience preferred.
b. 0-2 years of experience in customer service, travel industry, administrative support, marketing support, or related fields preferred.
c. Ability to communicate effectively in English and Japanese, both verbally and in writing.
d. Ability to work cooperatively with team members, business partners, and customers.
e. Basic interpersonal communication skills.
f. Interest in tourism, travel products, and customer service.
g. Basic understanding of Hawaii's tourism industry and visitor experiences preferred.
h. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems.
i. Familiarity with digital tools, content management systems, social media platforms, or design software is a plus.
j. Ability to follow instructions, manage assigned tasks, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
k. Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing business needs.
l. Valid Hawaii driver's license preferred.
Working Conditions:
Working Hours
  1. 40 hours per week. Regular working hours are generally scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.; however, work schedules may vary depending on operational needs, reservations, tour arrangements, events, and business requirements.
  2. This position may be required to work after hours, weekends, and holidays as deemed necessary, particularly during peak seasons, large group movements, events, or when time-sensitive arrangements are required.
  3. Overtime may be required seasonally, periodically, and as business needs require.
  4. Occasional travel to various locations outside of the office may be required, including travel to neighbor islands, the continental U.S., and/or abroad, where weather conditions may vary.

Physical and Mental Demands (focus on ADA language - highlighted parts)
  1. Must be able to frequently communicate with customers/ co-workers/vendors over the phone, computer, or in person in Japanese and English.
  2. Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery,

such as a copier, printer, multi-line telephone system, cellular phone, facsimile machine,
other standard office equipment, email, vehicle.
  1. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time.
  2. Must be able to observe documents from computer screens.
  3. Must be able to operate heavy camera equipment during photo shooting.
  4. Occasionally lift and/or relocate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with aid of coworkers and handcarts.
