Job Description

This role will report to the VP. With minimal oversight; the director will strategically manage all business aspects within a defined core Amcor Flexibles North America market(s). This position has overriding responsibility for advancing sales revenues and P&L business results. Through the establishment of comprehensive business management/strategies, this position has significant impact on AFNA's profitability.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Set a clear commercial strategy for your area of responsibility, applying principles of portfolio management and setting a very clear path forward as to how to execute given strategic disposition (grow, manage for cash, attrition)
  • Execute the P&L strategy for your area of responsibility - manage mix and margin. Set pricing strategy and make pricing decisions for key pieces of business. Manage spec portfolio. Set specific goals to be set on an annual basis and reviewed monthly.
  • Prioritize R&D programs and ensure an appropriately balanced pipeline across near, medium, and long term innovation
  • Mentor and develop direct reports
  • Set strategy and oversee negotiations with significant customers in your markets
  • Support and help build core marketing processes, including revenue management processes and stage gate
  • Set priorities for and support sales team - target customers and value proposition
  • Work with marketing communications to set strategy for and execute trade shows and customer-targeted communications
  • Collaborate with other key functions (Supply Chain, Operations, Marketing) to implement key commercial strategies that will maximize top line and bottom line growth.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

  • Education - A four- year college degree is required with an emphasis on Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or Chemical Engineering preferred; an MBA is preferred
  • Experience - 15 plus years of commercial experience in Flexible Packaging; 3-5years in a prior Director role preferred
  • Other - Robust understanding of raw material substrates, Mfg processes, general product specs and customer applications.
